Hot, Yet Successful Filming Blog

Today my group and I finally got the chance to go outside and film. We found the perfect spot to do our fourth scene. I was in this scene with my other partner Camille. It was very hot outside today so I was sweaty and wanted to get inside. I walked into the scene and hugged Camille as we walked down the pathway. We only shot this scene two times and it was very easy to do. However, it was a popular pathway so we had to wait a bunch of times for people to walk. Then we walked all around school to see if there was another spot to shoot the scene. It was hard because we didn't want to get in others shots. We did not find another place and I suggested to go inside. When we were inside I started to setup the props for the second scene. I placed my notebook on the table and put an open glue stick on it. Then I put a binder on top of the notebook, along with the pack of Crayola colored pencils. I spilled my pencil case on the table and this gave it that messy kid effect. Next I grabbed the pack of colored pencils. I moved my backpack on a chair up against the wall for the third scene and put the pack of colored pencils in my backpack. We couldn't figure out what angle to shoot from and how to put the colored pencils in. After we filmed everything we could, I took my phone and fixed the size and length of the videos. Although, Sofia forgot to bring the other pack of colored pencils so Camille can shoot the second and third scene with me. We still got a lot work done!

Filming With Sofia

Thursday was also the day that Sofia and I filmed together. First we had to get the scene with Lauren on the TV. I had to go on my phone and connect it to the TV so we could get the first scene on it. I had to email it to Lauren then go on her computer and that's how it connected to the TV. Once I got it on the TV we started scene two. I changed into jean shorts and a brown shirt. I also put on my Converse. We sat on Lauren's couch and I put the remote right next to me. I got my tripod and angled it to how I wanted. Originally we wanted to have Lauren move with us, but I decided that she should just stay there. I pressed the record button and went to the couch. I told Lauren to play the last ten seconds. After doing the scene three times, I realized that I wanted to change our lines. Messy Makeup and Crazy Clothes

The countdown of starting to film the final task video has begun. I decided it would be a good idea to start gathering the props, makeup, and costumes necessary. Out of the four of us, I would say I have the widest range, and best closet to use. I went through a massive makeup obsession about three years ago and received a bunch of makeup. Yesterday, I decided to go through it and pick out some good palettes. I chose the “Conspiracy” palette by Jeffree Star and the “Morphe x James Charles” palette. It has all kinds of blues, yellows, whites, purples, reds, and blacks. Then I looked up some makeup tutorials on YouTube to test out how to make fake bruises and marks. It turned out way better than I thought. Then I went onto the costumes. I used some from my closet and some from the clothes I bought this weekend with the intent to use it for the video. Group Blog

For the commercial project I am working with Sofia Grajales and Camille Keith. I just recently met the two of them though. Even though we just met, we are already the best of friends. We enjoy each others company and always have a great time when we are together. However, I haven't worked with them on a school project or assignment before. Working with friends can be tricky because it is easier to get sidetracked. Also, I don't know how their dedication is in school and how well they preform. Although, I am good at staying on task and making sure everything is getting done. Since we are all good friends there is very little doubt they will let me down in this project. I am a very hard worker especially when it comes to group projects. I always make sure to do my part. I hope that my partners have the same mentality as me because if they do we can work wonders on this project. I can only hope that they work well in groups.
