Final Task: UnSolved

Image
I am so happy everything is finally put together. It feels so good so have everything set in stone. I worked so hard on this and my partners too. I can't wait to take AICE Media Studies A Level next year. Even though, these past few weeks have been tough, it was all worth it. I learned so much about myself and how must effort I can truly put into school and this class. It opened my eyes to a whole new world and showed me that I actually like the "acting world". I fell in love with acting. Also, the feeling of working on something so hard, such as this, and seeing the final outcome is a feeling I can never describe. It is heart warming, amazing, and I even got the chills the first time I watched it. I truly can not wait for next year.

The Last Edits

Now that all the filming is complete, I can now edit. Over this weekend we film the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and eighth scenes. Over the past months in this class, everything was always filmed on my phone, and it continued to be filmed on my phone. Since it was, it was my responsibility to send them to my partners. Before I did, I would shorten them to the best of my ability. I compared Sofia's third scene parts to my and timed them to a T. I sent them to them on messages through our group chat, but the service in school is bad and I ended up Air Dropping it to them. Then I opened a Word Document and downloaded the fonts for the titles to my computer. I typed out each title and then saved it to my computer folders. I downloaded Office 365 on my phone and opened up that document and realized that the fonts don't show up in the correct font. So I had to save it as a PNG and try to share it with Sofia so she could get it on her phone and 'copy and paste it' onto the vi

That's A Wrap For Filming

Over the weekend, we knew we had to finish filming. The fourth scene was up first on Saturday. There was a wedding being set up in the park and it looked like a funeral. I put my phone on my tripod and angled it towards the wedding. I had to put my hair into a low ponytail because it was too windy. Then I pressed record and walked up to Sofia and stood next to her. Then Sofia filmed me. I said "It just doesn't make any sense." and then I filmed her saying "What doesn't make any sense. I held the phone over her should as well. Then I said "Everything. How, why did she just disappear. We owe it to Riley to find out." Then I shot Sofia saying "I have a plan, let's go." and had the camera facing her at eye level and as she walked away, I followed her. That was it for the fourth scene. Later on, we filmed with Camille. I had her park on the side of Sunset Strip and I walked down the sidewalk and looked to the left was Camille made a noise. Then

Changes Made From Film Review

Over the weekend, we finally filmed the main parts. We now have all the scenes done. After carefully thinking over what my three reviewers said, I decided to make some changes. They did say the script did seem a little too stiff and unnatural. When we were filming, I changed it up a little. I added some "um's" and natural 'lingo' that teenagers tend to say. I also changed the position of the first two titles. I put "YOSO Productions Presents" at the end. I also added ellipses at the end. It now said "YOSO Productions Presents..." and just looked more professional. I also cut the videos shorter. This made the script flow better. It appeared as if we were having a real life conversation. In addition, to make everything 'flow better' I changed up the third scene. Originally it was all going to be split screen. However, it looked more unnatural and stiff. I then suggested what scenes should be split screens and what scenes shouldn't. Af

Editing With Something New

I've never been good at editing. However, this year has taught me a lot more. It also showed me that I can edit better than I expected. One of my friends Lily is also taking this class. I asked her for any suggestions of good editing apps. This whole time I have used iMovie, but I wanted a new one. After talking to her, I downloaded CapCut. Since my sister is an "editing pro" I asked her to help me. She showed me around the app and how to work it. Since we filmed everything on my phone I added all the videos on the app and combined them. After that, I had to make sure it was all in order. I only added the first, second, and part of the third scene. I had to watch each video and pick the final part I wanted. When I film I just keep recording until I feel I got the one in the few I filmed. Then I want onto YouTube and searched up the music. Then I wrote down the amount of time I need the music to be. Also, I only searched up the music that is need for the parts of the first

Film Review

Recently, we haven't filmed at all. We are behind and only have a select few scenes done. We only have the 1st, 2nd, most of the 3rd, and the 7th scene complete. Once I pieced together the scenes we have, I asked around. I chose my sister, mother, and a friend. I knew my sister would be the best person to go to. She is always very honest and will say majority of what comes to her mind. When I showed her the video she said, "why is it so short? It doesn't make any sense. You guys clearly have a lot of work to do." I then explained the whole situation. We did give some suggestions about new transitions, because there were only two added. She is an editing pro and she explained to me what each tool does and how to use it. She also said to let lose more and act natural. I got the same response from my mother and friend. My mom said that it looks good, but obviously is unfinished. She said she didn't like the placement of the titles. My friend also thought it was weird
