Filming With Sofia

Image
Thursday was also the day that Sofia and I filmed together. First we had to get the scene with Lauren on the TV. I had to go on my phone and connect it to the TV so we could get the first scene on it. I had to email it to Lauren then go on her computer and that's how it connected to the TV. Once I got it on the TV we started scene two. I changed into jean shorts and a brown shirt. I also put on my Converse. We sat on Lauren's couch and I put the remote right next to me. I got my tripod and angled it to how I wanted. Originally we wanted to have Lauren move with us, but I decided that she should just stay there. I pressed the record button and went to the couch. I told Lauren to play the last ten seconds. After doing the scene three times, I realized that I wanted to change our lines. I decided that instead of talking, I would only say "I just can't" and kind of stutter. I would do this right at the end of the scene. Then I walked out of the camera. We got it in on

Working With Lauren

Image
As I said, Thursday was an early release day and the last day before spring break. It was also the best day for Sofia, Lauren, and I to film. I got to Lauren house around 1 PM which was way later than I would've liked. The good thing was Lauren was finished getting ready when I arrived. I was going to walk to her house which is a good 7 minute walk, but her mother picked me up instead. We went to Lauren's room and I immediately took everything out from my bag and help her pick out two outfits. The plan was to film all of Lauren's parts (which is only two) and then Sofia would come and it would be her and I. I picked out black leather pants to match the black leather blazer brought. I wanted a pop of color for the shirt and we tucked a green dress into her pants and it looked perfect. I told her to only button the middle button and put on the white lace up wedges I also brought. I was upset and mad at myself because I forgot to bring the microphone for her. However, we had t

Getting Ready For Three

We finally agreed to film on Thursday which was an early release day and also the last day before spring break. I asked my mother to stay home so I could film with Lauren since she was already staying home. We have a group chat together so that is where all this was discussed. I then asked Sofia if she could ask her mother, but she had a mandatory test she had to take. I then decided that I would go over to Lauren's before Sofia and she would come over once she got off the bus. I messaged Lauren separately and we came up with a schedule. I originally said I would get there at 11:30 - 12, but I woke up later than expected. I was also so tired, that I ended up getting there at 1 PM. It all worked out though because it gave Lauren time to get ready. The night before, I told Lauren to get "news anchor and camera ready" which meant full makeup and hair. I also picked out and packed my bag for the next day. Even though it will say Lauren is in charge of costumes, it is really I

Big Changes and Disappointing Weather

Image
I originally planned to work with Lauren this past Monday. Unfortunately, the weather got pretty rainy this weekend and carried onto Monday. I didn’t want the background to be all gloomy and rainy, so I cancelled. Also, the wind has been out of control. I also didn’t want the audio to be unclear because of all the wind. I was pretty upset, but we are most likely going to film on Wednesday or Thursday. Thursday is the ideal day to film because we have an early release . Also, I made the executive decision to switch Sofia’s and Camille’s roles. It was just better to switch them because Sofia, Lauren, and I live within five minutes of each other. Camille lives at least 25 minutes away from the three of us. When I pitched the idea, they immediately agreed. After I confirmed it with them, I had to change the script around. Sofia has her heart still set on being “Alexandra Delgado ”. So instead of the ‘dead girl’’ being ‘Alexandra Delgado ’, it is now ‘Riley Scott ’. I also had to c

Messy Makeup and Crazy Clothes

The countdown of starting to film the final task video has begun. I decided it would be a good idea to start gathering the props, makeup, and costumes necessary. Out of the four of us, I would say I have the widest range, and best closet to use. I went through a massive makeup obsession about three years ago and received a bunch of makeup. Yesterday, I decided to go through it and pick out some good palettes. I chose the “Conspiracy” palette by Jeffree Star and the “Morphe x James Charles” palette. It has all kinds of blues, yellows, whites, purples, reds, and blacks. Then I looked up some makeup tutorials on YouTube to test out how to make fake bruises and marks. It turned out way better than I thought. Then I went onto the costumes. I used some from my closet and some from the clothes I bought this weekend with the intent to use it for the video. I tried on multiple outfits and changed about 20 times. I am going to use one of my plain white shirts for Riley in scene six when she is

Music Production Blog

I knew my partners wouldn’t be much help, so I took the initiative to be the decision maker. I also knew music would be my biggest problem, and I wanted an easy way out. Instead of having to go through the hassle of searching for the music we want, emailing the artists, and hoping to get a response in time seemed like too much. I didn’t want to put the success of this project in the hands of some artist who would probably not respond back in time. Instead, I decided to choose royalty free public domain music. It was somewhat of a hassle, but I made it through in the end. I had to analyze each scene and try to come up with an idea in my head of what I imagine the music to be. After endless amounts of searching for a proper website, I finally found FreePD.com. “Big Eyes” by Rafael Krux will be playing towards the end of scene 2, all of scene three, and a little bit of scene four. It will be low, then high, and gets lower as it ends. Then “Lonely Mountain” as by Rafael Krux will enter in
