Expert Editor Blog
Today was a very stressful day for me. It was editing day one. I am not familiar with editing and I work better with the filming. However, with one out our group partners out sick, I had to most of the editing. I couldn't find my charger for my phone so I could plug it into my computer so I can import the videos onto it so I asked around. No one had a charger but luckily I found mine at the very bottom of my backpack. Once I imported everything I need onto my computer, I tried to download some editing apps on my computer, but with a bunch of students, teachers, and staff on the same Wi-Fi, it was really slow. Then I tried to download some editing apps on my phone, but I had no service in the classroom. Thankfully I already downloaded iMovie a week ago on my phone. I started to edit on there and realized it was harder than I thought. My other groupmate and I filmed the intro scene and we finally had all the filming material. I placed the four pictures at different times. I tried to do split screen on iMovie but couldn't figure out how. I looked it up but got no answers. I started to get frustrated and upset and with some help I got it. After I got past my little road bump, I went on to the third scene doing split screen again. After I edited the two scenes, I conjoined them along with some other clips. After adjusting the timing and lengths, I fixed the transitions for each scene. Since I wasted lots of time trying to figure out where to edit, I quickly added in the first scene and had to quickly adjust everything. I was pretty happy with what I accomplished today being down a partner.
