Intro Blog

 Hello, my name is Kaitlyn Casella. I am in 10th grade and I am 15 years old. I enjoy cheerleading on my two all-star teams and playing tennis. I am a very active person and I love those two sports. I also like to cook and bake. Whenever I cook or bake I feel relaxed and calm. I can be very energetic and other times I am calm. I am excited to be in AICE Media Studies in person because you get a better experience than online. I didn't like online school last year because I am more of a hands on, in class type of student. I work hard and always try my best in whatever the task at hand is. I have never taken a class like AICE Media Studies before, so I am excited to see what this class is all about. I tend to do things that are out of my comfort zone and see what is out there. I decided to be open minded about AICE Media Studies and I believe I made a good choice. I've always been interested in filmmaking, but I never decided to further my education in it. I hope this class can allow me to bring out my inner self and open myself up to new options. I also hope this class will help me in the future and that I can use it in the future. I am a very shy and quiet student so the thought of being on camera and working with others who I may not know is frightening. Recently I have been branching out and seeing what being an extrovert is like. I am more into law and am studying that at school currently. However, I intend to work hard in this class and potentially have a career in it.

Filming With Sofia

Thursday was also the day that Sofia and I filmed together. First we had to get the scene with Lauren on the TV. I had to go on my phone and connect it to the TV so we could get the first scene on it. I had to email it to Lauren then go on her computer and that's how it connected to the TV. Once I got it on the TV we started scene two. I changed into jean shorts and a brown shirt. I also put on my Converse. We sat on Lauren's couch and I put the remote right next to me. I got my tripod and angled it to how I wanted. Originally we wanted to have Lauren move with us, but I decided that she should just stay there. I pressed the record button and went to the couch. I told Lauren to play the last ten seconds. After doing the scene three times, I realized that I wanted to change our lines. Messy Makeup and Crazy Clothes

The countdown of starting to film the final task video has begun. I decided it would be a good idea to start gathering the props, makeup, and costumes necessary. Out of the four of us, I would say I have the widest range, and best closet to use. I went through a massive makeup obsession about three years ago and received a bunch of makeup. Yesterday, I decided to go through it and pick out some good palettes. I chose the “Conspiracy” palette by Jeffree Star and the “Morphe x James Charles” palette. It has all kinds of blues, yellows, whites, purples, reds, and blacks. Then I looked up some makeup tutorials on YouTube to test out how to make fake bruises and marks. It turned out way better than I thought. Then I went onto the costumes. I used some from my closet and some from the clothes I bought this weekend with the intent to use it for the video. Group Blog

For the commercial project I am working with Sofia Grajales and Camille Keith. I just recently met the two of them though. Even though we just met, we are already the best of friends. We enjoy each others company and always have a great time when we are together. However, I haven't worked with them on a school project or assignment before. Working with friends can be tricky because it is easier to get sidetracked. Also, I don't know how their dedication is in school and how well they preform. Although, I am good at staying on task and making sure everything is getting done. Since we are all good friends there is very little doubt they will let me down in this project. I am a very hard worker especially when it comes to group projects. I always make sure to do my part. I hope that my partners have the same mentality as me because if they do we can work wonders on this project. I can only hope that they work well in groups.
