1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Before starting to film, I researched different Crayola commercials from the past and noticed they all take place in a classroom filled with a bunch of kids drawing and laughing. We wanted to recreate the classroom, kid feelings, but we are teenagers, so it is hard to convey that. We filmed in our classroom and you can see some students in the back, however, they are not engaging like how the commercials are. Also, our music choice was more upbeat and wilder. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? Our product captures the eyes of children and parents. When the kids see how vibrant and exciting Crayola seems in the commercial it appeals to their emotions.
